Total purchase price (before tax)

The full cost of the auto purchase (this includes any additional options and destination charges without the sales tax).

Monthly payment

The amount of money payable every month.

Term in months

The period of time to which your auto loan has been set (expressed in months).

Interest rate

The interest rate that is imposed on your auto financing.

Cash down

The total amount you intend to put down. Larger cash down payment means that you will need smaller auto loan.

Non-taxable fees (optional)

Any additional fees (e.g. document fees) required for the car loan, for which no sales tax is imposed.

Taxable fees (optional)

Any additional fees (e.g. title transfer fees) required for the auto loan, for which sales tax is imposed.

Sales tax rate

The sales tax percentage rate imposed when buying your auto.

Trade allowance

The exact amount you are given in exchange for any automobile being traded in as part of the deal. There may or may not be sales tax deductions for such trade-ins depending on the state.

Amount owed on trade

The remaining auto loan balance still due on the trade-in.

No sales tax deduction for trade-in

Leave this box unchecked if in your state the sales tax is calculated on the purchase price less the trade in (in other words, if your state allows deductions for trade-ins). Otherwise, check it.
